The rematch between last year’s Superbowl teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs has answered the question that many have been asking since last year’s domination by the Eagles. Can the Chiefs beat the Eagles?. No, at least not at the moment.
Both offenses looked jittery at times, almost like a sparing match between two heavyweight boxers. But it was the Chiefs that got the first opportunity to get on the scoreboard with a field goal, unfortunately, Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker missed the 58-yard kick, 3 – crucial points that the Chiefs will go on to loose the game by.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles pressed on to the 20 – yard line of the Chiefs, giving Sequan Barkley an easy route into the endzone for the games opening touchdown. Butker did redeem himself by drilling in a 56 – yard kick to get the Chief on the board.

Dealing with an anemic wide receiver group, Mahomes put his legs to work in the 2nd quarter for a 64 – yard carry and a 13 – yard dash for the pylon to give the Chiefs a short-lived 10 -7 lead over the Eagles. The Eagles secured a 20–17 victory by controlling possession in the closing minutes and capitalizing on the game’s only turnover.
The Chiefs enter Week 3 still searching for their first win of the 2025 season, heading to New York to face a Giants squad that has struggled just as much. Can Kansas City break through against another winless opponent? All eyes will be on MetLife to find out.
