First game of week 1 got off to s fiery start as Eagles defensive tackle (TD) Jalen Carter gets ejected from play for spitting on Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. The incident occurred during an injury timeout after the opening kickoff. Jalen essentially got himself kick out of the game before the first offensive snap, leaving his team vulnerable.
Once the dust settled, the game got of to an exciting start with both team having successful drives to score their first points of the season. The first offensive drive by the Cowboys saw Dak Prescott connect with CeeDee Lamb inside the Eagles five yard line, ultimately leading to a Javonte Williams touchdown.
Eagles responded swiftly with an impressive drive that led to a back to back touchdown by QB Jalen Hurts. Sequon Barkley show up in great form with a touchdown of his own to give the Eagles the lead.
The Dallas Cowboys generated several scoring opportunities that should have resulted in touchdowns, but CeeDee Lamb couldn’t secure three well-placed passes from Dak Prescott. Those missed chances proved costly in a tightly contested opener.
The Philadelphia Eagles capitalized and escaped with a narrow 24–20 victory. While the rivalry lived up to its intensity, the game also exposed early-season rust on both sides that needs to be cleaned if either team hopes to contend for the NFC crown.
