The 41-year-old Rogers came into the game with a point to prove against his former team that choose to let him go. The Jets opened the game with steady purpose, stringing together drives that resulted in an early field goal. Their quarterback displayed solid chemistry with the offense, keeping the momentum alive through the first half. By halftime, the Jets had managed to edge ahead, carrying a narrow 19–17 lead.

Aaron Rodgers was near flawless, first finding Jaylen Warren for a touchdown, then capitalizing on a Jets kick return fumble with a crisp strike to Calvin Austin for another score. That surge brought the game to a razor-thin 32–31 margin in favor of the Jets. But with just 1:03 left on the clock, Chris Boswell delivers a spectacular 60-yard field goal to hand the Steelers at MetLife Stadium.
